One Nation, Under God – Magnet and Sticker Sale

The Knights of Columbus are selling magnets and stickers reminding us that we are “One Nation, Under God.” Stick them on your car, your fridge, or your backpack, as a reminder of what’s most important.

President Eisenhower said,

These words will remind Americans that despite our great physical strength we must remain humble. They will help us to keep constantly in our minds and hearts the spiritual and moral principles which alone give dignity to man, and upon which our way of life is founded.

Talk to any Knight from Council 829 at Assumption or Sacred Heart if you’re interested in buying a magnet ($5) or a Sticker ($3).

Ride the bus to the March for Life January 20

For the fifth consecutive year, Bellingham Council will help support a bus to the annual March for Life in Olympia, which will be held on Tuesday, January 20.  The bus will depart from the Assumption parking lot at 6:00am.

Sign-ups for the bus to the March for Life will be taken at Assumption and Sacred Heart parishes.  To offset the cost of the charter, riders are asked to donate $25.

The first stop of the trip will be at St. Martin’s University in Lacey where we will attend the 9:30 Mass for Life, celebrated by Archbishop Peter Sartain and concelebrated by Bishop Eusebio Elizondo and about 20 priests.  From there the bus will take marchers to the state capitol.  On the steps of the capitol and Supreme Court building attendees will hear speeches of several legislators, clergymen, and others.

2015 marks 45 years since abortion was made legal (but not moral) in Washington, with the passage of Referendum 20.  This state legalized abortion three years before Roe v. Wade.  By attending the Olympia March for Life you can do your part in making it illegal again.

Sign up early to reserve your seat on the 50-passenger bus.  Contact Brothers Joe St.Hilaire or Tim Adams for more information.  Also, Tony Buchanan is taking sign-ups at Sacred Heart and Rachael Becker at the Newman Center.
